Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome! We believe that every pet is a masterpiece. Here you'll find answers to common questions about our artistic process, ordering, and how we bring the unique spirit of your beloved companion to life on canvas.

Part 1: The Art & The Process

What makes your pet portraits so special?

We see ourselves as more than just a service; we are a digital art studio dedicated to capturing the soul of your pet.

Each portrait is a bespoke piece of art, created by a real, professional artist who specializes in animal portraiture. We don't use automated apps or filters. We focus on capturing the unique details—the twinkle in their eye, the texture of their fur, the quirky tilt of their head—that make your pet, your pet.

What animals do you create portraits for?

Our studio is a celebration of all animal life. We create stunning portraits for any animal, no matter the species or breed.

While dogs and cats are our most frequent muses, we've designed beautiful masterpieces for horses, birds, bunnies, and even tiny, whiskered hedgehogs! Our artists are experts at capturing the unique charm of any creature. (Please note, at this time we do not create portraits of humans, no matter how cute they are!)

How does the process work?

It's a simple, three-step journey to create your masterpiece:

  1. Choose & Upload: Select your preferred style, size, and background, then upload your favorite pet photo directly on our site.
  2. Art in Motion: Our artists get to work, meticulously hand-illustrating your pet's portrait. This is where the magic happens.
  3. Approve & Receive: Within 2 business days, you'll receive a digital proof to review. Once you love it and approve it, we'll produce and ship your final, beautiful artwork.
Who are the artists behind the portraits?

Our studio is a collective of passionate, professionally trained digital artists who share one thing in common: a deep love for animals. Each artist is selected for their skill in capturing emotion and personality, ensuring your portrait is not just a picture, but a piece of fine art.

Part 2: Placing Your Order & Customization

What kind of photo should I upload? A Photo Guide.

A great photo is the foundation of a great portrait! For the best results, please follow these simple guidelines:

  • Lighting is Key: Natural daylight is your best friend. Try to take photos outdoors or indoors near a large window.
  • Pose & Angle: Eye-level photos work best to capture their personality. Photos showing the pet sitting or standing are ideal.
  • Quality Matters: Use a smartphone or a high-quality camera. Make sure the photo is sharp, in focus, and not blurry.

(For a more detailed guide, please visit our "Photo Guide" page from the main menu.)

Can you check my photo before I place an order?

Of course. While our Photo Guide answers most questions, we want you to order with complete confidence. If you're still unsure, you can email your photo to our Art Advisors at support@wagwag.art. They will review it and let you know if it's suitable for creating a masterpiece.

What is a Digital Download?

A Digital Download is a high-resolution digital file of your final, approved artwork. It's a perfect add-on for sharing your masterpiece on social media or for your own personal printing projects.

You will receive the file via email once your physical order has shipped. Please note, this is offered as an add-on and is not available as a standalone product.

Can I change or cancel my order after it's been placed?

To ensure a swift creative process, we begin working on your art promptly after an order is placed. If you need to make a change or request a cancellation, you must email our support team at support@wagwag.art within 12 hours of placing your order.

After 12 hours, we cannot guarantee changes or cancellations as your portrait will already be in the hands of an artist.

Part 3: Shipping & Delivery

How long does it take to receive my portrait?

Our creation and delivery timeline is a two-step process:

  1. Artwork Creation & Approval: Please allow 2 days for our artists to create your portrait and for you to receive the digital proof.
  2. Production & Shipping: Once you approve the artwork, it takes 3-5 business days for production (printing, framing, quality check) and an additional 5-7 business days for shipping, depending on your location.
How are the portraits packaged?

We take extreme care in packaging your artwork. Framed portraits are wrapped securely and placed in robust, double-walled cardboard boxes. Canvases are protected with bubble wrap and sturdy corner guards. Our goal is for your portrait to arrive in perfect, gallery-ready condition.

Part 4: Our Promise & Care

What is your satisfaction policy? What if I'm not happy with my artwork preview?

The WagWag.Art Promise is that you will be thrilled with your artwork. We don't just create a product; we create a feeling. Here’s how it works:

  • Artwork Preview & Unlimited Revisions: You will receive an email with a proof of your artwork. We are proud to offer unlimited, free revisions to ensure every detail is perfect. We will work with you until you absolutely love it.
  • 3-Day Approval Window: You have 3 days to either approve the artwork for printing or request edits. If we don't hear back, we will consider it approved and proceed with production to avoid delays.
  • Returns & Refunds: Because your artwork is 100% custom-made for you and your pet, we are unable to offer returns or refunds. This is why our proofing and revision process is so central to our promise. We will not print and ship until you have given your full approval.
What happens if my portrait arrives damaged?

In the rare event that your artwork arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at support@wagwag.art. Include photos of the damage and the packaging.

We will immediately prioritize and send you a replacement at no extra cost.

How do I care for my portrait?

To ensure your artwork remains vibrant for a lifetime:

  • Keep it out of direct, prolonged sunlight.
  • Dust gently with a clean, dry, soft cloth.
  • Do not use water, cleaning solvents, or any abrasive materials.
